Class Descriptions:

Fit Event: Once a month we try to book a fun Fit Event for our members.  In our studio we try to give you a workout that makes you fit and functional.  Once a month we put that theory to the test and take you outside the studio and test your fitness level in a different environment. Give us a call or check out our Facebook page to get up to date information on our events!

FLOW Yoga:  As with all of our yoga classes, the breath is the foundation of the practise.  In our FLOW classes, the breath is used to connect the asanas (poses) in a beautiful flow that both challenges and strengthens, and creates flexibility and balance. An all levels class with focus on alignment, beginners will safely learn the basics while more experienced students can take postures to a deeper level.

  • FLOW Yoga: A moderately-paced flow class to help you feel centered, focused,and restored. In this practice we will work to create cleansing heat in the body and increase strength and flexibility. Suitable for people looking for a well-rounded flow class, including those who are new to yoga but who want to build strength along with the flexibility and mind/body benefits of all our other yoga classes.

  • FLOW Yoga II: A multi level, challenging class that is a balanced combination of sustained poses (Hatha) as well as poses flowing in a mindful progression from one to another. Attention is always given to basic alignment & therapeutic principles. Mindfulness; observing breath and body  are an integral part of class. Classes are balanced with energy, to give you a good physical work-out, and calm, to keep you balanced. This class is open to people of all skill levels but should not be practiced if you have any back injuries.  That said, if you have a sore back as a result of weak core, then this class is just for you!!

  • SLOW FLOW Yoga:  The best of both worlds! Enjoy the heat and energy of your Yang flow followed by the sweetness of your Yin practice; strength generating standing and balancing poses followed by long held restorative floor postures that relax the muscles and target the deep connective tissues of the body.    This class is a beautiful way to end your day and to balance an active life or to counteract poor posture or muscular imbalances created from day to day life. Suitable for all levels.

GENTLE Yoga: Are you challenged by back and joint problems or chronic health issues? Do you know that slowing down, stretching and strengthening in a pain-free way is what your body needs? Our Gentle Yoga classes are perfect for you.  A calming, stress-relieving yoga class to stretch and strengthen the body gradually. Emphasis is on alignment and building awareness of the breath and the body.  Asanas are practiced at a slower pace with attention to alignment and detail. Recommended for all levels looking for a soothing, relaxing, and restorative experience, especially those newer to yoga or working with special concerns or injuries. 

  • Gentle Yoga I: Perfect for people who want to try yoga for the first time or for those who are looking for a softer approach to their practice. Explore gentle yoga poses, breathing exercises and restorative postures to stretch and strengthen the body, reduce stress and calm the mind. 

  • GENTLE Yoga II: This class has a slightly higher level of intensity than our Gentle Yoga I as it is designed to create tone in our muscles along with mobility in our joints.  As with our Gentle Class there will be breathing exercises and restorative poses that will help move our bodies from the fight or flight state and invoke an all over relaxation response.      

Yang Yin Yoga: The essence of Yin Yoga is surrender. To balance the heat-building, blood-pumping, strengthening "yang" side of a Vinyasa Flow or Ashtanga practice, Yin focuses on postures that lengthen the muscles surrounding the hips, pelvis, and lower back while Yang focuses on creating heat and strength. The elasticity of our connective tissue diminishes with physical activity and aging, which makes Yin essential for injury prevention and joint health. Pure bliss!​

Private Yoga Instruction:  If you aren’t sure the small group environment is for you then private yoga sessions are a great way to
learn the fundamentals of yoga, how to adapt poses to suit your specific bodily needs or to expand your personal practice and get a class catered just to YOU at the time that works for you.  A class can be custom designed for your specific needs or you can choose from any of the class descriptions above. 

Semi-Private Training:  Train with a partner or up to 3 other people who share some of the same goals as you! Each program will still be designed to meet your individual needs.  If our times don't work for you  then you may start your own semi-private session with up to 3 of your friends!  A class can be custom designed for your specific needs or you can choose from any of the class descriptions above.   *limited to 4

I just want to share how much I am not only enjoying the yoga classes at Roseland but how I seem to find a new edge in every class with Christine. It is clear that she has a deep practice incorporating, but also going beyond strength, flexibility and balance. My body, mind, heart and spirit all feel healthier after every class.
